Chalk Hill Assembly Missions Trip

to Managua, Nicaragua 

July 18-25, 2009

The Chalk Hill Assembly of God sent a team of 19 people to complete a much needed remodel of a school. In addtion, they conducted a Children's Cruisade for the children of Managua. The following is a list of projects the missions team worked on:

  1. Built a water tower for clean drinking water for the school
  2. Installed plumbing for the school
  3. Completed electrical work to install fans and lights for the classrooms
  4. Installed windows and doors in the school (there were none)
  5. Completed masonary work to finish walls
  6. Painted inside classrooms
  7. Refinished and repaired desks
  8. Teamed with Convoy of Hope to distribute food to over 400 needy families
  9. Preached in services and on the radio

Over 160 people were saved during the 9 day mission!

The Holy Spirit at Work in Europe

Our U.S. missionary team in Europe works alongside indigenous churches and also partners with approximately 35 European Pentecostal fellowships. Together, we utilize every way possible to accelerate the spread of the gospel as we model biblical integrity, minister in the Spirit, and partner with those of like vision to build the church of Jesus Christ.

We are facing difficult winds of change in Europe. But we are also clearly aware that the wind of the Spirit is at work on this continent, and we want to follow His leading. We believe He wants to revitalize a lukewarm church, fan the flame of the evangelical and Pentecostal churches, and see multitudes of Europeans and immigrants come to Christ.

The Right Idea at the Right Time

While teaching a seminary class in Managua, Nicaragua, missionary Jerry Brown started a discussion on the apostle Paul’s role in mentoring young Timothy. Looking out at the 10 students in his class, he asked, “Who was the ‘Paul’ in your life?”

Four students were older, seasoned pastors, and each gave a different response. But the remaining six students, each of whom was just starting out in ministry, surprised Brown by naming the same person—Angel Gahona. Curious, Brown set out to learn more about Gahona, only to discover that the two men’s ministries were linked in a unique way.
